Visibility and limits: Keep track of your ngrok usage
Since introducing usage-based plans and pricing, ngrok has been gathering feedback and striving to provide greater transparency about endpoint traffic to our users. We're thrilled to announce the launch of an updated usage view for your ngrok account. This new feature allows you to quickly assess your account's traffic volume and identify areas where you may be approaching or exceeding your account limits.
Our key goals for this feature were simplicity and transparency. With just a click from the dashboard, you can now easily stay on top of your usage.
What’s visible with the new usage dashboard?
The usage metrics now available to you include:
- Your endpoints, including reserved domains and reserved TCP addresses
- Traffic through all your endpoints, including the rate of connections to ngrok per minute, the number of HTTPS requests, and volume of connections to your TCP/TLS endpoints
- Data transfer in and out; inbound traffic is free, but outbound traffic counts towards your plan's data cap
- Requests with Traffic Policy applied
- Monthly Active Users authenticating into your services via OAuth, OIDC, or SAML policies
- Number of agents running
- Number of users on your ngrok account

You can also filter usage metrics for the current usage cycle, the previous cycle, last 7/14/30 days, last 3/12 months, or a custom range of historical data.
Catch usage limit issues early
In that spirit of simplicity and transparency, we also wanted to not just make your usage data visible, but also actionable. When any usage metrics nears the limit as defined by your current plan, we’ll let you know with a Needs attention section to help you implement an appropriate fix, such as fixing errors in your services and workflows, or upgrading to a plan more suited to your use case.
